Standing Together in Strength: Prayers for ODU

In moments of tragedy, words often fall short—but unity, compassion, and support speak volumes. Our hearts are with the Old Dominion University community as they face the pain and impact of a senseless act of violence. During times like these, we are reminded of the importance of coming together—not only in grief, but in strength.

The House of Distinguished Gentlemen, along with our volunteers and partners, stands in solidarity with the victims, their families, the injured, students, faculty, and all those affected. We lift the ODU community in prayer, asking for healing, comfort, and peace during this incredibly difficult time.

This moment calls us to reflect on the value of life, the power of community, and the responsibility we all share to uplift one another. It is also a reminder of the work that remains—to guide, mentor, and support our young men so they are equipped with not only skills, but character, emotional resilience, and a strong sense of purpose.

We believe that even in the darkest moments, light can be found through unity and action. Together, we will continue to stand, support, and serve—because our communities deserve safety, hope, and healing.
